Philadelphia will receive $1.85 million dollars from a company that claimed to be minority owned, but was not. Corizon Health Inc., formerly Prison Health Systems provided pharmaceuticals to the prison system claiming that they were a woman owned business in order to win the contract. Philadelphia's inspector general, Amy Kurland found out that the named company on the contract did no actual work. The out of court settlement is meant to deter others bidding for city work from attempting a similar ruse.

Pennsylvania's voter ID law was argued in court today. Attorneys for the ACLU and the State stated their case. Opposition says it is unconstitutional because it places unnecessary obstacles on voters, especially the elderly and minorities who can't locate birth certificates. Supporters say that photo ID is part of life and the state's new, free, more accessible photo ID, to be rolled out next month, will ensure that no voters are turned away.

A Verizon power outage caused major problems in the western Philadelphia suburbs today. Telephone, internet, bank machines and other Verizon connected services went down in Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties about 10 this morning and remained down for several hours while technicians isolated the problem. 911 calls were affected in areas including Wayne, West Chester, Paoli and Bryn Mawr.

Sports
The Phillies completed their first sweep of the seasn beating Milwaukee Brewers this afternoon in extra innings. The Phillies won all three games by coming from behind in their final at bat and won all three games by a score of 7 to 6.

Weather
Clear and comfortable tonight. Low 67 degrees in Philadelphia.
