One person is dead and several people are injured after a SEPTA bus collided with a car in the West Oak Lane section of the city Monday night. The Acura, traveling northbound on Old York Road, veered into the oncoming lane and hit the southbound Route 55 bus. The female passenger in the Acura died from her injuries, the driver is reportedly in critical condition.

Philadelphia police are investigating the shooting death of 63-year-old Aamar Stanley early Monday morning. The deadly shooting happened at about 4 a.m. in the 2200 block of W. Lehigh Avenue in North Philadelphia when a group of suspects confronted the victim outside his home. The suspects then followed the victim inside the home, where they shot him three times.

Camden police are mourning the loss of their 18-month-old K-9 Serge who died of heat exhaustion in the back of his handler’s patrol car last Thursday. For two hours, he left it parked and running with the air conditioning initially on, says Camden Police Chief Scott Thomson, while he was inside the police station. Thomson says the special system designed to protect the dog if the air went off apparently did not activate.
