Ali to Receive Liberty Medal, Penn State Accreditation Warning, Ocean City Closures

Tickets went on sale this morning to see Muhammad Ali receive the Liberty Medal presentation September 13th at the National Constitution Center. Ali, a world champion heavyweight boxer, is getting the recognition because of his conscientious objections to Vietnam military service, which he took all the way to the Supreme Court,

The Jerry Sandusky fallout continues at Penn State. Now the university's scholastic accreditation is in jeopardy. The Middle States Commission on Higher Education issued a warning focused on governance, integrity and financial issues. Penn State must submit a plan showing proof that it is capable of paying the $60 million fine levied against the school.

In Ocean City, the beaches are open, but part of the ocean closed yesterday - off limits to swimmers while officials test the water after a drain backup dumped sewage into the streets, then into the storm sewers, and then into the ocean. The affected area is between Stenton Place and Delancey at the north end of Ocean City's boardwalk.
