UPDATE: 3-year-old Elinor Trotta and her father have been found safe in Massachusetts Tuesday afternoon.

An Amber Alert was issued last night for a 3 year old girl believed to be abducted by her 39 year old father. Police in New Jersey and Delaware issued the Amber Alert after a woman in New Castle reported her daughter was taken by her ex-boyfriend, the father of the girl, Michael Trotta after assaulting the woman. Trotta is a white male, 5'8" and 160 pounds, balding and a short haircut. He was last seen wearing all black and driving a 1989 gray Mazda 626 possibly headed for New York. The daughter, Elinor Trotta has brown hair, purple coat, pink pants and "Frozen" sneakers.

A three alarm fire at a Kensington shoe store caused a huge problem for firefighters and commuters this morning. Crews were called to the scene at 5:11 a.m. for heavy smoke at a Payless Shoes on the 2300 block of North Front Street. The extreme-cold single digit temperatures made battling the blaze difficult, and rendered some fire hydrants unusable. SEPTA stations on the Market Frankford Line were shut down as a precaution due to the risk of icing. No injuries were reported.

Pennsylvania’s state House could vote as early as this week on a proposal to privatize the sale of wine and liquor - again. The proposal calls for selling the retail and wholesale operations of the Liquor Control Board and creating 1,200 licenses for stores to sell wine and liquor. Beer distributors would have the first chance to buy the licenses. Grocery stores would be permitted to sell only wine.
