A new proposal is being introduced in Pennsylvania that would increase jail time for heroin dealers. Republican State Representative James Santora introduced the bill on Thursday. The new measure would leave a mandatory minimum prison sentence of five years for first time heroin offenders. The bill would also bring on harsher penalties for drug deliveries that result in serious harm.

Montgomery County officials have now announced that the Cosby Trial cost the county government around $219,000 with more than half of the money going towards overtime for the deputies, detectives, security guards and court personnel. County officials released a breakdown of the costs, saying around $46,000 went towards the jurors hotel rooms, $14,000 towards Juror meals, and another $16,000 for running a separate video and audio feed to an overflow room. The second trial has been rescheduled for November of this year.

Chester County officials have stated that the man accused of punching a victim with cerebral palsy in May is now facing more charges. Barry Baker, who was arrested for assault back in May. Police are now charging Baker with flight to avoid apprehension after he had the police searching for him for nearly two weeks. Police say that after making bail back of May 22nd, Baker then went on the run after he did not surrender to other charges that were pending against him. He was on the run for 10 days, but was eventually caught on June 5th at a hotel.
