Possible Arson In Kensington; Dicks Sporting Goods Robbery; One Injured In Police Car Crash

Police and fire crews are currently investigating a possible arson incident that took place in the Kensington section of Philadelphia. The incident took place on Tuesday at a construction site on the 1800 block of Frankford Avenue. Police say that a worker arrived at the site and found evidence that someone tried to set one of the units being built on fire. Police say that there was no immediate damage to the unit they are continuing an investigation.

Police in Montgomery County are now searching for a group of shoplifters. Police say that a woman with two juveniles entered a Dicks Sporting Goods store in Plymouth Township on August 2nd. Officials say that the three suspects went to the Nike aisle of the store and took around $2500 worth of clothing. Police say that the woman and the juveniles left the store with a male accomplice. Anyone with information about the suspects is asked to contact police.

A car crash involving a Philadelphia Police SUV and a civilian vehicle left one person injured. The crash took place on the 6500 block of Elmwood Avenue in Southwest Philadelphia at around 8:30 pm. Police say that the officer was driving northbound on 65th Street when he struck a civilian car traveling westbound on Elmwood Avenue. The officer was uninjured but the civilian suffered minor injuries to their left arm. They were taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries.
