The Woodcrest Country Club in Cherry Hill will soon have new owners. Cherry Hill Land Associates won the property for $10.1 million. They were among four major bidders that attended the private auction in Center City on Monday morning. The group has not commented on what they would do with the 155 acres of land, but folks living near the country club say they hope it doesn't become housing or retail space.

A couple hundred health care workers at Temple University Hospital and their supporters held a rally on North Broad Street Sunday afternoon. The point was to protest the administration's decision to not immediately reinstate a fired employee after an arbitrator ruled that she should be allowed to return to work. Authorities say a homeless man, who became an internet celebrity, was arrested in Philadelphia and charged with a northern New Jersey murder Thursday night. Caleb Lawrence McGillvary was arrested by Philadelphia Police at the Greyhound Bus Terminal. McGillvary became an internet celebrity after a rambling television interview of him went viral after he intervened during an attack in California earlier this year. Four people were shot in Southwest Philadelphia Wednesday night. The incident happened on the 2600 block of South Daggett Street in the Elmwood section. An innocent person was hit by a stray bullet that went inside a home. Three others were also shot. Philadelphia Police rushed all four victims to the hospital.

Authorities have identified the 12-year-old boy who, along with his mother, was found dead in a Trenton home; the site of a 37-hour long standoff with police over the weekend. The Mercer County Prosecutor's Office says Quavon Foster was killed a little less than two weeks before what would have been his 13th birthday. Police say 38-year-old Gerald Murphy killed the mother and son.

A Toms River father has been arrested and charged with endangerment in connection with the fatal shooting of a 6-year-old boy by his 4-year-old son. Anthony Senatore was arrested Monday night for having multiple unsecured weapons accessible to children. On April 8th, the Prosecutor's Office says the 4-year-old boy allegedly gained access to an unsecured .22 caliber rifle in Senatore’s bedroom and fired a single shot, striking his 6-year-old neighbor in the head. Gerald "Skip" Tyrone Murphy, a registered sex offender who barricaded himself for days in a South Trenton home with his girlfriend's three children, was shot to death Sunday as police rescued the captives and recovered the bodies of their mother and another sibling. An officer shot Murphy because he was threatening one of the children. Murphy was taken to a hospital and later died of his injuries.

Police say a Dover man, Takoi A. Morris, was charged with his 6th DUI offense on Thursday.
The incident happened at about 12:45 p.m. at South DuPont Highway (US13) and South State Street in Dover. Morris was arrested and charged with his 6th Offense Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Driving While Suspended or Revoked, No Proof of Insurance, and Driving While Using an Electronic Communication Device. He was arraigned and ordered held on $11,000 secured bail.

A pedestrian was struck in a hit-and-run accident in Montgomery County on Wednesday night. The incident happened on Norris City Avenue and Stanbridge Street in East Norriton. Officials say a male was struck by a vehicle that left the scene. There is no word on the victim's condition.

A 20-year-old woman allegedly used a knife to carjack a vehicle Tuesday night. The incident happened along the 700 block of Adams Avenue in Northeast Philadelphia. Philadelphia Police say the woman allegedly stabbed the 40-year-old male driver in the hands as she stole his vehicle. Police say the woman was arrested and the weapon was recovered.
