Embattled District Attorney Seth Williams faced a federal judge on Wednesday just days before Williams is set to go on trial. Williams sat with his lawyer as the prosecution and defense hashed out some last minute details with Judge Paul Diamond. Montgomery County Police have placed a man in custody after he assaulted a woman in a Wawa parking lot. The incident took place at the Wawa on the 1600 block of Valley Forge Road back on April 12th in Lansdale. Lansdale resident Mazen Salfit reportedly grabbed a woman by the arm and pulled her close to his vehicle, he then kissed her with out consent. Philadelphia officials are now trying to offer an alternative method to giving panhandlers money, in an effort to try and stop the practice in the city. The new project would allow pedestrians to text in donations to homeless services in Philadelphia. Pedestrians will be able to text the word "Share" to 80077 and donate $5 automatically. Philadelphia Police have now taken a suspect into custody, after striking a Drexel University student in the University City section of Philadelphia. The incident took place during the early morning hours of Saturday. Police say that the 24-year-old victim was crossing 38th and Market Streets when a Lexus struck her. Philadelphia Police are now investigating a deadly shooting that took place in the Hunting Park section of Philadelphia. The shooting took place on the 1400 block of Whitaker Avenue at around 6:45 pm on Thursday evening. Officials have stated that a police officer opened fire on the suspect. They also say the suspect was on a dirt bike before the shooting happened. Investigators found the suspect's gun on the scene, but have not said if it was loaded. Officials are still investigating... A Philadelphia Police Officer is now recovering after being attacked while trying to break up a high school fight on Tuesday afternoon. The incident took place at 15th and Chestnut Street at around 2:30 pm on Tuesday. The police officer who was on a bike, noticed a fight going on between high school students and tried to break it up. Former Obama Administration ambassador to Germany, Phil Murphy, was voted in as the Democratic nominee. Lt. A Bucks County woman has been sentenced to 12-40 years in prison for the death of her 2-year-old daughter. 24-year-old Kayla Moore was sentenced on Monday and pleaded no contest to third degree murder of her daughter Athena Wolfe. Police say that Moore reported her daughter in cardiac arrest, but when doctors examined her body, they say she had many bruises and appeared malnourished. Moore stated after her trial that she is "ashamed, embarrassed, angry with myself and heartbroken." Read More

Philadelphia Firefighters spent most of Sunday afternoon battling a house fire in South Philadelphia. The incident took place at around 3:45 pm on the 2600 block of Sherdian Street. Officials arrived on the scene to find to heavy smoke coming out of the house from the fire. Luckily the fire was able to be put out and there was no report of any injuries sustained.
