Philadelphia Police are now investigating after a man was shot three times in North Philadelphia. The shooting took place on the 3300 block of N. Gatz Street at around 1:45 pm on Tuesday. The victim was found on the scene with gun shot wounds to the chest, right arm and abdomen. He was later taken to Temple University Hospital in critical condition. Police are now searching for the suspect or suspects responsible.

Police have now placed a suspect in custody after he stabbed a man and created a barricade situation in the Strawberry Mansion section of Philadelphia on Monday. The incident took place on the 2500 block of North Stanley Street at around 4:20 pm. Police say that a 23-year-old man was stabbed multiple times in the chest and was taken to Temple University Hospital for treatment. Philadelphia Police are now investigating after a man was injured in a shooting in North Philadelphia on Saturday. The shooting took place at around 4:45 pm on Orianna and Cumberland Streets. Police arrived on the scene to find a 21-year-old man shot twice in the stomach. The man was taken to Temple University Hospital and is reportedly in stable condition. SEPTA officials are reminding passengers that the fare increase will go into effect over this upcoming weekend. The fare increase was approved by the board back in May and will effect all means of transportation. The electronic card and token single fares will increase from $1.80 to $2, cash fares will increase from $2.25 to $2.50 and weekly TransPass fares will increase from $24 to $25.50. Police are now investigating a shooting that took place in North Philadelphia that left one man dead. The shooting happened on the 1700 block of North 6th Street at around 7:30 pm. Police arrived on the scene to find the 31-year-old victim who had gunshot wounds to the head, back and shoulder. Philadelphia Police have now found human remains in an empty lot in the Tioga-Nicetown section of Philadelphia. The human remains were found by contractors at around 4 pm on the 1700 block of Atlantic Street. The remains were found inside of a milk crate on the site as well as inside of a briefcase. A 9-year-old boy has been hospitalized after he was accidentally set on fire in the Cobb's Creek section of Philadelphia. The incident took place along the unit block of South Redfield Street. Police have stated that boy and his 10-year-old friend were playing with a lighter. The 9-year-old's shirt was then set on fire. He was then rushed to the hospital with multiple burns to his body.

New Jersey lawmakers have now sent Governor Chris Christie a measure that would raise the smoking age to 21 in the state. The Democratic controlled Senate wants to raise the smoking age from 19 to 21, only allowing anyone above the age of 21 to buy tobacco and electronic cigarettes. The group of storms on Wednesday night delayed 4 of SEPTA's regional rail lines, leaving many passengers upset and without any means of transportation. Debris and downed trees shut down the Paoli Thorndale, Fox Chase, Warminster and Wilmington Lines.
