FBI agents are searching for a suspect for questioning in Saturday's New York bombing. Ahmad Khan Rahami (photo) is considered armed and dangerous and may be tied to both explosions in New York and New Jersey over the weekend. Authorities now believe the bombing are connected to a terror cell here. Authorities converged on his New York apartment this morning after one of five devices found at the nearby Elizabeth train station exploded while a bomb squad robot attempted to disarm it. No one was injured. They report Rahami is a 28-year-old naturalized U.S. citizen of Afghan descent born on January 23, 1988, in Afghanistan. His last known address was in Elizabeth. He is about 5’ 6” tall and weighs about 200 pounds. Rahami has brown hair, brown eyes, and brown facial hair.

Potentially heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected to soak the Philadelphia region today. It’s just the second measurable rainfall in the area this month. Some of the rainfall could be heavy according to the National Weather Service. Flooding will be primarily in urban and poor drainage areas today and into tonight. There is some uncertainty with regard to the timing and location of the heaviest rainfall. However, widespread flooding is unlikely because the region has been under a dry spell.

Some members of the Philadelphia Eagles plan to demonstrate their criticisms regarding race-related issues on Monday Night Football tonight. Safety Malcolm Jenkins said the players involved delayed their plans one week “to make sure we didn’t…take away from the families that suffered from 9/11.” Jenkins said minorities have been disadvantaged since the United States’ founding, adding that it “has nothing to do with this country or the flag or the anthem.” The reported decision comes following similar public displays of dissent from players like 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and soccer player Megan Rapinoe.
