A team official has confirmed that the New Jersey home of Philadelphia 76ers guard Tyrese Maxey caught fire on Christmas Eve. It happened around 7 p.m. Friday night on the first block of Fairway Drive in Voorhees, Camden County. The multi-alarm fire drew a large response from fire crews. No one was injured. The team is making sure that Maxey and his family have everything they need. The cause of the fire is still unknown.

Volunteers gathered at the Valley Forge Hilton Garden Inn to help some 50 families displaced by Hurricane Ida in September celebrate the holidays. The gathering had all the trimmings including decorations, Santa Claus, toys and gifts, and good food. 350 Montgomery County residents are still living in hotels following the destructive storms that spawned tornados and record floods. Some families lost everything and are looking for new permanent housing, while others are trying to rebuild.

Philadelphia Police are investigating after a man was shot by a stray bullet in his bedroom on Christmas Eve. It happened around 9:35 p.m. on Friday night on North 62nd Street near Race Street. The 40-year-old man was found in his pajamas with a gun shot to the back. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police believe the shot came from a vacant lot across the street. They found evidence of 11 rifle shots fired. No weapons were found. The bullet travelled into a bathroom window and through a wall before striking the man in the back as he was watching TV.
