Police in Bucks County are searching for the driver in a fatal hit-and-run accident that killed a man on Christmas Eve. It happened shortly after 5 p.m. Friday, 12/24, on State Road near Fourth Avenue. 65-year-old John Dugan was crossing the street with his fiance when he fell. That is when he was struck by a cherry red Chevy Silverado pickup with black rims that did not stop after the accident. The vehicle was captured in surveillance footage. If you have any information, contact Officer Kenneth Margerum at (267) 812-2991.

A man pretended to be dead in the middle of the road in Chester County on Christmas Day, only to carjack the Good Samaritan who stopped to help him. It happened on North Five Points Road near the West Goshen Community Park. Mark Turner pulled over when he saw 38-year-old Darren Desruisseaux lying in the street. Turner assumed he was the victim of a hit-and-run, and believed he was unresponsive. While Turner was on the phone with 911, Desruisseaux jumped up and got into Turner's car. The two fought before the suspect took off. He led police on a chase which ended in Delaware County. Desruisseax had been arrested for car theft in West Chester six days prior and was out on bail when he committed this crime. He is currently being held in Chester County Prison in lieu of $75,000.

The Mummers Parade is returning to South Broad Street this New Year's Day after pausing in 2020 due to the pandemic. The parade starts at City Hall and heads south to Washington Ave. It is free to watch along Broad Street, but costs $20 to get a seat in the City Hall Performance Zone. Judging happens at 15th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard. There are special viewing areas at North 15th and Market Streets; Broad and Sansom Streets; Broad and Pine Streets; Broad and Carpenter Streets. The parade goes from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Comics and Wench Brigades and the String Bands perform outside. The Fancy Brigades have two ticketed competitions inside the Pennsylvania Convention Center at 11:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. Expect many road closures around the area.
