Pennsylvania State Police are investigating after the body of a woman was discovered in a state park in Bucks County over the weekend. The remains were found around 10 a.m. on Saturday, 1/8, at Neshaminy State Park on the 3400 block of State Road in Bensalem. The Bucks County coroner has identified the victim as 50-year-old Lisa Jennings of Philadelphia. She suffered stab and slash wounds to the neck. Police are still trying to determine when she was killed. She was described as having a destinctive tattoo with the name 'Lisa' on her arm. If you have any information, call police at 215-942-3900.

A fire in a Bronx, New York, apartment building killed at least 19 people, including 9 children, and injured dozens more on Sunday morning, 1/9. It happened in a 19-story building around 11 a.m. on East 181st Street in Fordham Heights. FDNY Commissioner Dan Nigro said the fire started in a duplex apartment on the 2nd and 3rd floors and was caused by an electric space heater, though the heat was on in the building. The fire itself was contained to that unit. The door to the apartment was left open and smoke from the fire poured out and into the interior of the building. Most of those injured suffered from smoke inhalation and exposure. "The door to that apartment unfortunately when the residents left was left open, it did not close by itself. The smoke spread throughout the building, thus the tremendous loss of life," FDNY Commissioner Dan Nigro said. Newly sworn in Mayor Eric Adams said, "This is going to be one of the worst fires we have witnessed here in modern times in the City of New York."

UPDATE: Officials now say that 17 people, including eight children, were killed. Investigators do not yet know why the self-closing doors stayed open.

A woman was shot in the face in Frankford on Monday morning, 1/10. It happened around 7:49 a.m. on the 1500 block of Pratt Street. The 18-year-old was transported to Einstein Medical Center in critical condition. No arrests have been made.
