Legendary Philadelphia radio host, Sid Mark, passed away on Monday night, 4/18, at age 88. Mark is best known for his weekly Frank Sinatra radio programs that have been on the air for the past 65 years. "Fridays with Frank," "Sundays with Sinatra," and "Sounds of Sinatra" have been weekend staples for many Philadelphians' entire lives. Mark started at WHAT and WHAT-FM (which became WWDB-FM). Most recently his program could be heard on WPHT-AM. His show was also nationally syndicated. He was inducted into the Broadcast Pioneers of Philadelphia Hall of Fame in 2001.

The Diocese of Camden has agree to settle claims involving clergy sex abuse. The diocese will pay 300 alleged victims at total of $87.5 million. The agreement was filed in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Camden on Tuesday, 4/19. It must be approved by a U.S. bankruptcy judge. "I want to express my sincere apology to all those who have been affected by sexual abuse in our Diocese," Bishop Dennis Sullivan said in a statement. "My prayers go out to all survivors of abuse and I pledge my continuing commitment to ensure that this terrible chapter in the history of the Diocese of Camden, New Jersey never happens again." The alleged abuse occurred from the 1950s to the 1990s, but mainly in the 60s and 70s. Each victim could receive $290,000.

The Montgomery County District Attorney's Office announced charges against a Philadelphia man accused in a deadly hit-and-run spree from last summer involving multiple stolen cars, several injured people, and one death. 41-year-old Kareem Welton is charged with First-Degree Murder, Attempted Murder, Aggravated Assault, Robbery, Robbery of a Motor Vehicle, Attempted Robbery of a Motor Vehicle, Accidents Involving Death or Injury and related charges. It started around 10:45 p.m, 7/27/21, near Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and ended around 6 a.m., 7/28. Welton is accused of stealing several cars, striking numerous pedestrians, and stealing a dog. 31-year-old Andrina Moreno-Sanchez was struck and killed while walking on the sidewalk near 15th and South Streets.

"This defendant's behavior that night involved numerous crimes, from stealing a dog and stealing multiple cars to killing someone and robbing her of her chef's coat, to intentionally targeting other individuals with his vehicle. Welton's criminal behavior left many individuals and families traumatized and grieving. We will prosecute all of his crimes together to accurately portray the egregiousness of this crime spree," Montco District Attorney Steele said.
