A man was shot late Thursday night in Center City, and the shooter has been arrested thanks to some witnesses. The shooting happened around 11 p.m. at 15th and Chestnut Streets. Witnesses inside a nearby restaurant followed the shooter, and guided police over the phone to where the gunman was eventually arrested a few blocks away. A 4-alarm fire ripped through a 3-story apartment building in Center City this evening. It started around 5:40 p.m. at 2122 Locust Street near Rittenhouse Square. Around 20 people were evacuated from the building. The Eagles officially announced Doug Pederson as their new head coach on Monday. The former Chiefs offensive coordinator is being formally introduced at a news conference today at 2 p.m. Jim Schwartz, the former Lions head coach and defensive coordinator with the Bills, arrived in Philadelphia and is expected to interview with Pederson for the defensive coordinator job.

Glenn Frey, who co-founded the Eagles and with Don Henley, became one of history's most successful songwriting teams with such hits as "Hotel California" and "Life in the Fast Lane," has died. Frey, who was 67 and had been battling multiple ailments, died Monday. The band's website said he died in New York. The band also posted a message on their Facebook page, which read, in part:
