For the third consecutive year, iRadioPhilly will broadcast the Philadelphia Folk Festival Main Stage LIVE all weekend! The 53rd annual concert kicks off today (Friday, 8/15/14) at 2:30 pm on the Martin Guitar Main Stage and wraps up Sunday night (8/17) at the Old Pool Farm in Schwenksville, PA

Philadelphia's Taney Dragons, Mid-Atlantic Champs, in Little League World Series Today

The Taney Dragons from Philadelphia take the field this afternoon in Williamsport, one of 16 teams remaining in the Little League World Series. The Dragons are now wearing a uniform with the name, "Mid Atlantic." These Mid-Atlantic Champs, our Taney Dragons throw out the first pitch at 3 o'clock this afternoon against the Southeast regional team from Nashville. The game will be on ESPN. There will be a pep rally followed by a game watch at City Hall at 2 pm.

Now less than a month away from the start of school in Philadelphia, the School Reform Commission and Superintendent William Hite are scheduled to make an announcement Friday about the future of the cash-strapped school district. Hite has said that if the district did not fill an $81 million budget gap, school may not open on time in September and 1,300 employees could face layoffs. West Goshen Supervisor Killed; Murder Outside Concert for Peace; Little Leaguers Begin Series

West Goshen Township Supervisor, Robert White was killed yesterday in an accident at the ShopRite on West Chester Pike. White was leaving the store on his lunch break when he was hit by a pickup truck driving in reverse that then drove through the store wall. The female driver is cooperating with the investigation into the accident. 77 year old Robert White was pronounced dead at Chester County Hospital.
