The Rooster, originally Rooster Soup Co., is closing its doors on Saturday, June 8th. The charitable diner is simply not making enough money to then donate to its cause. The restaurant's mission, which was a venture between Steve Cook and Michael Solomonov (CookNSolo) and FederalDonuts, was to donate profits to Broad Street Ministries. A woman in Haverford Township, Delaware County, has been arrested and charged in the death of her 83-year-old mother in March 2018. 58-year-old Ellen Gottlieb of Havertown was arrested on Tuesday morning, 6/4, and has been charged with the neglect of a care-dependent person, aggravated assault, and involuntary manslaughter. Police in Rehobeth Beach, Delaware, are looking to identify a suspect wanted in a stabbing on the boardwalk on Saturday night, 6/1. It happened just after 10 p.m. near Wilmington Avenue. Two teenagers were killed after being thrown from their vehicle in a crash along Roosevelt Boulevard on Saturday night, 6/1. A small single engine private plane made an emergency landing on the beach in Ocean City, NJ, on Saturday morning, 6/1. It happened around 8:30 a.m. on the 49th Street beach. Surprised beachgoers caught the landing on video (see below). The Cessna 182 landed on the sand and rolled along the beach before coming to a stop and lurching up on its nose and wing. The National Weather Service has confirmed that an EF-0 tornado touched down on Wednesday afternoon, 5/29, around 3:15 p.m. near the border of Bucks and Lehigh Counties. A small private airplane crashed into the Atlantic Ocean off of a Cape May beach on Wednesday morning, 5/29. It happened around 11:30 a.m. near South Cape May Meadows Path between Cape May and Cape May Point. The FAA says that a Mooney M20J single-engine plane crashed about 1,200 ft from the Cape May Lighthouse. The Coast Guard responded to the scene. The plane is in about 18 feet of water. A former Delaware County teacher has died from his injuries after being shot over the weekend by his neighbor. 44-year-old Joseph Iavarone was shot in the head by 49-year-old John Ballas on the 100 block of Bishop Drive in Chester Heights early Sunday morning, 5/26.
