Off-Duty Cop DUI; Search For Haverford Twp. Murder Witnesses; Daycare Owner Sexual Assault of Kids

Philadelphia Authorities say that an off-duty cop who was involved in a multi-vehicle accident may have been under the influence. The accident happened at around 6 am on Wednesday on the 1500 block of North Street in Philadelphia. Officials have said that the off-duty officer hit around 4 parked cars during the accident. Luckily no one was injured in the accident and the officer was taken into the police station for a possible DUI. Police are continuing an investigation.

Former Mayor Vaughn Spencer appeared in court on Tuesday after he has been accused of selling power in his office for campaign contributions. Police are looking for a suspect after a woman was sexually assaulted at gunpoint in a Montgomery County park on Tuesday morning. It happened around 10:50 a.m. in Norristown Farm Park. A 19-year-old woman was running in the park when she was attacked by a man with a gun and raped. She managed to call 911. Authorities have recovered a vehicle believed to belong to the suspect wanted for killing a man in Haverford Township and opening fire on an Overbrook street over the weekend. A grey 2004 S60 Volvo was towed away by police from the 5100 block of Locust Street in West Philadelphia on Tuesday morning. Police say that they have now found the mother who reportedly left her 8-month old baby inside of a Bensalem hotel and never came back. 34-year-old Erica Avila-Lopez was found at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia, where she was undergoing a medical procedure. Police have now placed a suspect in custody after he injured a man in a hit and run accident in Center City. The incident took place at around 2:20 am on Broad street near Lombard Street. Police have stated that the driver hit the victim and then sped away, his car was later spotted by an officer at 13th and Catherine Streets. Haverford Township police have released a photo of a man wanted for questioning in connection with a deadly shooting on Saturday afternoon in Ardmore. The shooting happened just after 6 pm outside an apartment along the 2300 block of Haverford Road near Wynnewood Road.
