Officials in Philadelphia have ruled that the fire and building collapse that killed Philadelphia Fire Lt. Sean Williamson was an arson. Police have a suspect in custody. Al-Ashraf Khalil is the owner of the 3-story building. He is charged with maliciously damaging a building by means of fire, lying to federal agents concerning his whereabouts at the time of the fire, and aiding and abetting. A funeral was held on Monday, 6/27, for fallen Philadelphia firefighter Lt. Sean Williamson. 51-year-old Williamson was killed in action while fighting a fire at a pizzeria and residences on the 300 block of Indiana Avenue in the Fairhill neighborhood. The 3-story building collapsed after the fire was put out and killed Williamson while injuring five others. The services were held at Epiphany of Our Lord Church on Jackson St. in South Philadelphia. The Supreme Court of the United States overturned Roe vs Wade on Friday morning, determining there is no federal constitutional right to abortion. The decision came as part of the court's ruling on Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization. The court ruled 6-3 to uphold the Mississippi law at the heart of the case and 5-4 to overrule Roe. A woman is currently in critical condition after she was attacked and set on fire in Kensington last Thursday night, 6/16. It happened around 11:30 p.m. on the 1800 block of East Tioga Street. 36-year-old Alyssa Morales aka Bre is in a medically induced coma in the burn unit at Temple University Hospital. He died from his injuries on Sunday, 6/20. Two teenagers are now in custody for their role in the shootings on South Street last Saturday 6/4. 18-year-old Qaadir Dukes-Hill of Drexel Hill and 18-year-old Nahjee Whittington of Philadelphia were taken into custody by U.S. Marshals in Richmond, Virginia, on Thursday morning, 6/9.
