Philadelphia Police have released surveillance video showing a large group of teenagers entering, damaging, and looting a Walgreens store on South Street on July 4th. It happened around 10 p.m. on the 1800 block of South Street. This same crowd of young people had been marching up South Street all evening, growing in size, disrupting traffic, causing violence, and otherwise being disorderly before it arrived at the store. Philadelphia Police are searching for a suspect accused of attempting to rob a store because he said he needed money for his daughter's kidney transplant. The incident happened at the 1 Stop Smoke Shop at Veree and Red Lion Roads in the Somerton section. The armed man was wearing gloves taped at his wrists, a heavy coat with hood, bandana over his face, a heavy shirt and pants. Philadelphia Police are investigating what appears to be a murder-suicide involving a police officer and his estranged wife in the Juniata Park neighborhood. The couple was found around 9:20 a.m. in a home on the 4600 block of Weymouth Street. It happened before 6 a.m. in a parking lot on the 1200 block of Latimer Street, near 12th and Locust. The 37-year-old woman was grabbed and dragged into the parking. She was raped and robbed. The National Weather Service confirmed that a EF-0 tornado touched down in Burlington County, NJ, on Saturday afternoon, 7/6. The brief landspout tornado was on the ground for .07 miles in Mount Laurel just after 2 p.m. at the Mt. Laurel Industrial Plaza off Gaither Drive. It had winds between 65 to 85 miles-per-hour. Domestic violence assault charges have been dismissed against Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Odubel Herrera after his girlfriend declined to press charges. Herrera appeared in an Atlantic City municipal courtroom on Wednesday morning, 7/3. Melany Martinez-Angulo, his girlfriend, assured the judge that she was not pressured to drop the case.
