7 Earth-like Planets Discovered, NASA; Man Killed By Broad Street Line; Arrest After Carjack Lie

NASA and a team of Belgian astronomers announced on Wednesday that they have discovered 7 Earth-sized planets orbiting a single star. Those planets may also have the right conditions to support life. The seven planets orbit a star called Trappist-1 which is a cool dwarf star 40 light years away. The MaST Community Charter School held their annual enrollment lottery on Tuesday, and many families waited in line for a chance for their kids to be enrolled at one of Philadelphia's most prestigious charter schools. There is only one requirement to enter the lottery, you must live in Philadelphia. Around 9,190 entered the enrollment lottery, but only 96 spots are open for students. An accident involving multiple SEPTA trains at 69th Street Terminal in Upper Darby this morning has left 4 people injured, 1 critically. The crash happened around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday in the loop outside the station. The trains are used for the Market-Frankford Line. According to SEPTA, Train 57 rear ended Train 67 which was stopped on the track. Philadelphia Police are now investigating a triple shooting that took place in the Olney section of Philadelphia. The shooting took place along the 5500 block of North American Street at around 7:30 pm on Monday. Police arrived on the scene to find a 19-year-old with a gunshot wound to his right arm, a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the rear, and a 17-year-old boy with a graze wound to the right arm. A woman was arrested in Delaware County this afternoon after police say she stabbed an 8-year-old girl in the head. It happened in an apartment on the 500 block of MacDade Boulevard in Collingdale around 2:45 Friday. Officers arrived on scene to a male carrying the bleeding 2nd grader out the front door.
