DeSean Jackson was deactivated for Sunday's loss to Arizona because he failed to attend a team meeting a day earlier. Initially, it was thought that Jackson simply overslept.

Jackson’s explanation on Monday didn't mention anything about sleeping too late. A team source said Sunday that the missed meeting wasn't the first incident of the season with Jackson.
Michael Vick suffered broken ribs in the loss and his status for Sunday night against the Giants is uncertain.Read More

Nine games into the season, and the Philadelphia Eagles are 3-6. Andy Reid promoted Juan Castillo from offensive line coach to defensive coordinator, and now the defense has gone from subpar last year, to awful this year.

The Eagles have blown five fourth-quarter leads. Sunday’s loss to the Cardinals and fourth quarter collapse was tied to penalties, mental errors, and physical mistakes.

Regarding the defense, Andy Reid says we have to fix it. Castillo... Read More
Eagles Losing. Why? Vick?

Why aren’t the Eagles winning? Is it Andy Reid? The defense? Offense? Some say it points to Michael Vick.

Lesser quarterbacks have more TDs than Vick’s 11. He stands in the middle of the pack or worse in nearly every major passing statistic. Vick has been another Eagle whose play has been decent but ultimately not good enough to win. Big plays have been missing.

Vick is completing 62 percent of his passes and has been more consistent than a year... Read More

  by: iradiotom - Philadelphia, PA
started: 10/31/11 9:47 am | updated: 10/31/11 9:47 am
This is the Eagles team most Philadelphia football fans expected to see from the start of the season. On Sunday night the Birds ran a stampede over the top ranked Dallas defense on their way to a 34 to 7 blowout. Just a few weeks ago, many fans were convinced Andy Reid would be run out of town after the team's slow start. Now Andy is getting high praise for his perfect 13-0 record after bye weeks and the fact that the team is looking like it is beginning to gel as a real force in the... Read More

Phillies and Eagles - Great Players, Different Results?
  by: iradiotom - Philadelphia, PA
started: 10/04/11 1:17 pm | updated: 10/04/11 1:17 pm
The Phillies have delivered on the season of big promise. The pitching staff that graced the cover of Sports Illustrated at the beginning of the season delivered 102 wins despite injuries. What about the Eagles? In the pre-season they picked up some of the best free agents in football. Some fans even labeled it a Dream Team. However the Eagles results so far are nothing to dream about. Putting good, high paid players together on the roster does not guarantee success. If it was that easy,... Read More

Usually Philadelphia sports fans are labeled with the ugliest behavior. However, in London, Ontario Canada where the Flyers played the Red Wings on Thursday night a fan threw a banana onto the ice at Flyers winger Wayne Simmonds who is black - one of the few black players in the NHL.

Gary Bettman, the NHL commissioner commented, "We have millions of great fans who show tremendous respect for our players and for the game. The obviously stupid and ignorant action by one individual... Read More
