Former Phillies' Shortstop Jimmy Rollins just signed a minor league deal with the San Fransisco Giants. The Giants will be his third team in three years after spending 15 years on the Phillies. The Phillies traded Rollins back in December of 2014 for a pair of minor league players. Since then Rollins has been on the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago White Sox. Odubel Herrera Signs 5-year Contract, Iverson Hall Of Fame Night, Redskin's Everett Fined

The Phillies have now signed center fielder Odubel Herrera to a five-year contract that will last through the 2021 season. The Phillies acquired Herrera back in 2014 in the Rule 5 draft from of the Texas Rangers. This past 2016 season Herrera batted a .286 ERA, with 21 doubles, six triples, 15 home runs, 87 runs and 25 stolen bases. Herrera also was selected to be on the National League All-Star team. The Flyers have now extended their win streak to 10 games, making this the longest winning streak since 1985. The Flyers took on the Colorado Avalanche Wednesday night in what turned out to be a tough and very close game. The Flyers were down, in the first two periods, but managed to come back with two goals by Roman Lyubimov and Brayden Schenn in the third period. It has now been 174 days since the Sixers signed Ben Simmons, the No. 1 overall draft pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. Simmons got some playing time over the summer on the Sixers summer league team, but has yet to put on the uniform for an official game due to fracture in his right foot he sustained on the last day of training camp. Sources have now stated that Temple will pick the University of Florida's defensive coordinator Geoff Collins as their new head football coach. The Eagles sideline was heated on Sunday afternoon after Redskin's safety Deshazor Everett laid a brutal hit on a defenseless Darren Sproles early in the fourth quarter. With just 12 minutes left in the quarter, Sproles was sprinting up field to catch a Redskin's punt. While Sproles was tracking the ball in the air, Everett full on tackled Sproles. James Franklin, the head coach of Penn State's Football, team has now been named Sporting News' Coach of the Year. Franklin is in his third season with the Nitanny Lions, and had started off the season pretty rough losing 2 of the first 4 games. After those two loses the Nitanny Lions never looked back and went on to win 9 consecutive games closing their season record out at 11-2. The reigning National College Basketball Champs Villanova University have now been ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press's Top 25 men's college basketball teams. Villanova (who are currently 8-0) moved up to the No. 1 spot last week with 57 first-place votes from a panel of 65 national media professionals.
