Two years ago Steve Jobs decried the market of small screened (7 inch or so) tablet computers, basically saying that the screen size could not be utilized effectively for making great tablet applications. He cited Apple's own testing that showed how larger 10 inch screen give more space so that our chubby fingers have room to touch things properly on the screen. Earlier this year, the city of Philadelphia and Mayor Nutter began to pressure the current owners and developers of the Divine Lorraine Hotel at Broad Street and Fairmount Ave in North Philadelphia to do something with the historic building that is failing into disrepair. Empty for over a decade, it is becoming an eyesore in the Mayor's opinion and a blockade to North Broad's revival.

Comcast Cable Communications based in Philadelphia has filed a federal lawsuit against Sprint Nextel alleging that they have infringed on four of Comcast's patents. The patents include the very core features of Sprint's service including a 2005 Comcast patent called "Transferring Of A Message".

Study shows Full Effect of Sunoco and ConocoPhillips Refinery Closings

Delaware County officials warned of the devastating effects of the closings of the Sunoco and ConocoPhillips refineries in Marcus Hook and Trainer on Wednesday. They cited a state analysis they requested that said that for every job lost at the refinery, 18 non-refinery jobs would either be lost, lose hours, or in some other way be affected.

Last year, Philadelphia developer Bart Blatstein bought 18-story building that had been home to Philadelphia Media Networks assets including the Inquirer, Daily News and Philly.com.

Now Blatstein and four partners have formed a company to explore purchasing Philadelphia Media Network Inc. but it is unclear whether the group will be able to participate in the bidding process.
