Philadelphia officials announced that no large scale public events will be held in the city until at least February 28, 2021. The moratorium was set in place over concerns from coronavirus COVID-19. Iconic events such as the Broad Street Run, Philadelphia Marathon, Thanksgiving Day Parade, and the Mummer's on New Year's Day have been canceled. An 18-year-old recent high school graduate is being called a 'hero' after saving two women caught in the rough surf in Ventnor, NJ on Friday evening, 7/10. Jalan Alston of Brooklyn, NY was visiting the shore with a few friends to celebrate their graduation from George Westinghouse High School. The National Weather Service has issued Tropical Storm Warnings for the New Jersey coast and Flood Watches inland starting early Friday morning and lasting until Friday night.
