Just across the Schuylkill River from all the festivities of the NFL Draft, the 123rd Penn Relays carnival has been running all week long. On Saturday alone, 47,420 spectators packed into historic Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. The big events today as usual featured USA vs. The World. Five teenagers will be charged in connection with a fight at the King of Prussia Mall that was caught on cell phone video. Three 14 year olds will be charged with misdemeanor simple assault. A 15-year-old and a 12-year-old will face summary harassment charges. Upper Darby Police are now investigating after a woman was attacked and killed by her own dog in Upper Macungie Township. The incident took place on Spring White Drive on Thursday at 1:30 pm. Police say that the woman was attacked by her dog on the rear deck of her home. Once crews arrived on the scene the woman was taken to Lehigh Valley Medical Center where she was later pronounced dead. The standoff between authorities and a suspect in the murder of a Delaware State Trooper ended this morning. Officials say that the suspect exited the house around 9:17 a.m. Thursday and 'engaged police.' Law enforcement then shot him. An anonymous donor has now contacted the family of the 10-year-old child whose wheelchair was stolen outside of their home on Tuesday morning. On Wednesday morning, an anonymous caller contacted Mr. Wheelchair, a store in Holmesburg, and told the technician there that she wanted to purchase a new wheelchair for the boy. A jury has sentenced a trooper killer to death in Northeast Pennsylvania. Eric Frein, an anti-government activist who ambushed two Pennsylvania State Troopers in a sniper attack and then led authorities on a 48-day manhunt, was convicted on all 12 charges by the same jury last week. The 33-year-old opened fire on the Blooming Grove state police barracks in Northeast Pennsylvania on September 12th, 2014. He killed Cpl. Bryon Dickson II and wounded Trooper Alex Douglass. A Delaware State Trooper was shot and killed at a Wawa on Rt. 40 in Bear, DE. It happened after Noon on Wednesday on the 1600 block of Pulaski Highway near Salem Church Road. The trooper was transported to Christiana Hospital in critical condition, where he died. He has been identified as 32-year-old Cpl./1 Stephen J. Police responded to the report of a shooting at a Wawa on Rt. 40 in Bear, DE. It happened after Noon on Wednesday on the 1600 block of Pulaski Highway near Salem Church Road. The shooting victim is a Delaware State Trooper. He was transported to Christiana Hospital in critical condition. Multiple state and local agencies are on the scene. Authorities are looking for a suspect. No word on a motive or what led up to the shooting at this point.
