Democratic presidential candidate Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont will hold a rally this afternoon to protest the closure of Hahnemann University Hospital in Center City Philadelphia. The rally will take place at 2 p.m. outside of the hospital located at 230 N. Broad Street. The man who climbed high up on the rusting structure of the blast furnace at a former steel mill in the Lehigh Valley on Friday night, 7/12, is facing felony charges. 25-year-old Jonathan David Wallace of Mertztown is charged with felony risking a catastrophe, as well as reckless endangering and defiant trespass. A pregnant mother and her 9-year-old son were killed after their car was swept away in flash floods in Berks County on Thursday, 7/11. It happened around 4:30 p.m. on Pine Forge Road in Douglass Township. 31-year-old Pamela Synder and her son Preston Dray became stranded in their Mazda after Snyder attempted to drive through flood waters overflowing from the nearby Manatawny Creek. Nine people were injured in a car crash involving 2 vehicles and pedestrians outside of Thomas Jefferson University Hospital in Center City on Friday afternoon, 7/12.
