A Philadelphia father has now been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of his 2-year-old son in a Bucks County apartment last month. 27-year-old Jorddan Thornton had previously been arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a child in the death of Julius Thornton. It happened on the evening of December 2 at the Racquet Club Apartments and Townhomes on Veterans Highway in Middletown Township. Police responded to a call of a boy with a cracked skull. Protesters Storm US Capitol While Congress Counts, Certifies, Debates Electoral College Vote

Supporters of President Trump stormed the U.S. Capitol building on Wednesday afternoon, 1/6, while a joint session of Congress was convened to certify the Electoral College votes. Earlier Wednesday, the crowd had gathered at the Ellipse (between the White House and Washington Monument) for a rally featuring a speech by the President. Trump implored Vice President Mike Pence not to certify the votes. Following that rally, a large group marched to the Capitol.

Two people are dead after a two-alarm fire in Berks County early Sunday morning, 1/3. It happened around midnight on the 1200 block of Chestnut Street in Reading. Heavy flames could be seen coming from the front of the row home. It took 45 minutes to bring the fire under control. Firefighters found a woman and teen girl inside while searching the building. A woman has died after a single car crash in Northeast Philadelphia around midnight, 1/2. It happened as the vehicle was exiting Woodhaven Road onto Thornton Road. The car left the road and crashed into a pole. The woman was sitting in the backseat. She was taken to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
