SEPTA announced contingency plans today to deal with the reduced Regional Rail fleet due to emergency repairs on around one third of the cars. SEPTA will operate on a modified Saturday schedule Monday - Friday until further notice. Extra trains will be added during rush hours. The Market-Frankford Line, Broad Street Line and Norristown High Speed Line will also have enhancements during rush. SEPTA Revised Schedule; Powerball Jackpot Tops 250 Million; Fireworks Schedule

SEPTA warned Regional Rail riders of possible major disruptions in the days and weeks ahead after the company had to take about one-third of Regional Rail cars out of service due to a structural problem. Revised schedules will be posted today on SEPTA's website.

Nobody won Saturday night's Powerball drawing, so the estimated jackpot for Wednesday's went up another $14 million. Wednesdays jackpot is expected to reach $257 million.

Wawa Welcome America! Festival wraps up tomorrow with the Party on the Parkway, July 4th Concert, and Fireworks at the Art Museum to celebrate our country's 240th Birthday. The Party on the Parkway starts at noon on Benjamin Franklin Parkway from 20th Street to Eakins Oval and goes to the start of the concert at 5pm. A father and young son were killed and a third person sent to the hospital after a watercraft accident in Atlantic County on Saturday. It happened just before 5 p.m. in Patcong Creek near Jennings Gateway Marina in Somers Point, NJ. The father and 8-year-old son were out riding on a water ski and collided with another water ski out on the water. The third person was transported to Shore Memorial Hospital with a wrist injury. Christie Orders Roadwork Shutdown; Special Election Date Set; Rush Hour Protest Ban Lifted

Late on Thursday night New Jersey Governor Chris Christie ordered the shutdown of all projects funded by the state's transportation trust fund. The executive order comes after the Democratic-led Senate declined to vote on a bill that would replenish the fund. A bill that passed Assembly and was supported by Christie was on the table, but Senate leaders, who support a different plan, decided to let the deadline pass without even a vote. The fireworks show that provides the finale to Philadelphia's Independence Day festivities will be a bit earlier this year. The July 4th fireworks are scheduled to start at 10 p.m. Monday, after the Party on the Parkway and Wawa Welcome America! concert conclude. The 13 minute display has been pushed later in recent years because bands and music performances have run longer than scheduled.

Danny DeVito, Philly's own Rob McElhenney and the rest of the cast will be in Philadelphia shooting scenes for the upcoming season of the show. The show will be shooting scenes near 12th and Locust Streets. No Gas Tax Vote by NJ Senate; Teen Surrenders in Germantown Shooting; Kidnapper Sentenced 35 Years

The NJ Senate will not vote on a bill approved by the Assembly and supported by Gov. Chris Christie that would raise the gas tax and lower the sales tax. The bill would have raised the gas tax to 37.5 cents a gallon from 14.5 cents and lowered the sales tax from 7 percent to 6. The measure would help pay for road and bridge work and extend the state's transportation trust fund's borrowing authority. Sen. Environmental activist Erin Brockovich is weighing in on concerns residents are raising about drinking water contamination near two former U.S. Navy bases north of Philadelphia. Brockovich spoke by Skype Tuesday night to hundreds of residents who turned out for a public meeting. A law firm is gathering facts for a possible lawsuit stemming from water problems near the Naval Air Station, Willow Grove and the Naval Air Warfare Center in Warminster.

The DNC is just weeks away, but Hillary Clinton will not be the only big name coming to our area. Lady Gaga, Lenny Kravitz and Philly's own DJ Jazzy Jeff will be performing in Camden, N.J. during the convention. Tickets will be available for convention delegates and invited guests.
