A man wanted for the attempted murder of three plainclothes Philadelphia police officers has turned himself in to authorities. 28-year-old Jeffione Thomas surrendered with his attorney on Friday, 9/25. The shooting happened last Friday, 9/18, on the 1400 block of Sharpnack Street in the Cedarbrook neighborhood. The three officers were riding in an unmarked vehicle. U.S. Attorney William McSwain announced charges against the treasurer of the City of Philadelphia on Friday afternoon, 9/25. 40-year-old Christian Dunbar is facing several federal charges including bank embezzlement and immigration fraud. None of these crimes occurred when he working for the City. He is accused of stealing $15,000 from two bank customers when he worked for Wells Fargo Bank in Newtown Square, PA. Protesters were back on the streets in Philadelphia for a second night following the Breonna Taylor grand jury decision in Louisville, KY. This protest started at Independence Mall. New Jersey lawmakers have passed a bill that would ban single use plastic and paper bags as well as plastic foam containers. Several states have bans on plastic bags or Styrofoam containers, but New Jersey would be the first to have an outright ban on paper bags. Some other states also allow customers to chose paper or plastic for a fee, but that would not be an option in the Garden State. Police in Bucks County are searching for a suspect wanted for assaulting a teenager with special needs inside a Walmart on Saturday, 9/19. It happened around noon at the Walmart at 195 North West End Boulevard in Quakertown. Richland Township police released surveillance video from inside the store of the incident. A federal judge declined to stay his own ruling that Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf's limits on gathering sizes is unconstitutional while the Governor appeals the decision. U.S. District Judge William Stickman IV said that the Wolf administration failed to show that "imminent and irreparable harm will occur" if crowds statewide couldn't be limited to 25 people inside and 250 people outside.
