Charges will be filed on Wednesday, 4/14, against a former Brooklyn Center, Minnesota police officer in the shooting death of a man during a traffic stop on Sunday, 4/11. Washington County Attorney Pete Orput says that former officer 48-year-old Kim Potter will be charged with second-degree manslaughter for killing 20-year-old Daunte Wright. A group of peaceful protesters gathered at City Hall and made their way through the streets in Center City on Tuesday night, 4/13. They were demonstrating after a Black man was shot and killed by police officers during a traffic stop in Minnesota on Sunday afternoon. It happened in Brooklyn Center, a suburb of Minneapolis. 20-year-old Daunte Wright was pulled over for an expired registration tag on his car. The Devon Horse Show and Country Fair (DHSCF) announced that it canceled this year's event for the second straight year due to the ongoing coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic. This year's event was scheduled to run May 27 - June 6. The annual Devon Horse Show is a U.S. Equestrian Federation (USEF) sanctioned show and is required to follow all of their guidelines.
