Giant Salmon Recall, Code Blue Advisory, Warminster Rape Arrest

A New York City company is recalling vacuum packs of smoked Nova salmon that were sold to Giant supermarkets in the Mid-Atlantic region because it may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. Acme Smoked Fish Corp. said Tuesday that it is voluntarily recalling 564 pounds of Imported (Product of Denmark) Acme 4oz. (113g) smoked salmon with a lot code of L.05122014. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board announced its decision this afternoon to award the second Philadelphia casino license to the Live! Hotel & Casino project which will be located in South Philadelphia near the stadium complex. The project is a joint venture between Cordish Companies and Greenwood Gaming. If they decide a second casino license is a good idea, they will decide between four applicants. Pope Francis has confirmed that he will make his first papal trip to the United States next fall to Philadelphia during the World Meeting of Families. City officials expect between 1 and 2 million people could attend the event just because of the pope's confirmed presence. The suspect wanted in connection with the vandalism on Manayunk's new Venice Island Park has turned himself into police. Northwest Detective Division received an anonymous tip over the weekend identifying the teenager in the surveillance video. The 15-year-old was charged with criminal mischief. Pope Francis Confirms Philadelphia Visit; Ship Remains on NJ Beach; Charges in Beating Death

The Vatican has confirmed that Pope Francis will visit Philadelphia for the World Meeting of Families in 2015. The Pope is expected to participate in closing ceremonies on the Ben Franklin Parkway Friday, September 25th to Sunday, September 27th. Philadelphia Archbishop Charles Chaput and his contingent were present when the Holy Father made the announcement. Chaput is overjoyed.
