An 80 year old Upper Darby man put up quite a fight with police when they tried to subdue him Wednesday night. Labeled "one nasty senior citizen" by police, Joseph Smith had called 9-1-1 and threatened to kill himself and the dispatcher. Police arrived at the Lansdowne Towers and saw Smith yelling from a window. Eric Frein, responsible for murdering a Pennsylvania state trooper, has had terroristic charges added to his existing list of offenses. The state police say that Frein called the killing "an assassination" in an interview with authorities. Letters were found of Frein's claiming a revolution is necessary to regain liberties that have been lost. Prosecutorsn are seeking the death penalty for Eric Frein.

Pennsylvania authorities have charged trooper ambush suspect Eric Frein with two counts of terrorism Thursday. He was already charged with first degree murder in the September 12th shooting of Cpl. Bryon Dickson at the Blooming Grove State Police barracks. Police found a letter addressed to "Mom and Dad" on a thumb drive that belonged to Frein. A group of local residents protested the possibility that a second casino might be built in the stadium complex in South Philly. The site considered is the Holiday Inn near Citizen’s Bank Park. Residents are concerned that a casino with gambling near homes and schools is not a good idea. Casino advocates say a casino will bring jobs.

This past weekend marked the 2014 Philadelphia Miniaturia show with more creative vigor and energy than ever. Artists from far and wide showcased to-scale artwork of miniatures of all shapes and sizes. The theme for this year's show was "The Stuff Of Dreams" and it was easy to feel the magical influence radiated from the show.

One man was killed and an innocent bystander injured last night in a South Philadelphia double shooting. According to police, a 35-year-old man, the intended target, was shot in the head at about 7:50 PM in the 600 Block of Winston Street. He was pronounced dead at Thomas Jefferson Hospital at 8:08 PM. The former Showboat Casino on the Atlantic City boardwalk found a buyer today in Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Stockton College in Absecon, NJ, entered into a purchasing plan with Caesars Entertainment. It plans to use the 28-acre, 1,425,000 square-foot facility as a satellite campus. Stockton President Herman Saatkamp could not reveal any more details such as price or closing date because of a confidentiality agreement. The Showboat was closed on August 31st.

The man who drove his wife's little red Corvette into the Delaware River is on the run from police, but he is talking to the media. 50 year old John Kramer called FOX 29 and said it was his car, not his wife's. He claims he paid $3,600 for it two years ago. Kramer also claimed his family problems started in June when he found his son dead in the basement of his house. Kramer says he is several states away and is not coming back to Philadelphia.
