Edgmont Golf Club Bankruptcy, Black Friday Origin

Edgmont Golf Club has filed for bankruptcy. The club property stretches into parts of both Chester and Delaware Counties. In court documents, Edgmont claims assets of $149,000 and liabilities of over $2.5 million including $250,000 in county, township and school district taxes for 2012 and 2013.

Flooding Causes Deadly Crash on I-76; Upper Darby Officers Cleared; Blake Bills Sentenced

25-year-old Blake Bills was sentenced today in a Philadelphia courtroom to 2 ½ to 10 years in prison for his actions in a highly publicized rampage back in March 2013. It involved his fiance, Shayna Sykes, two stolen police cars and a high-speed chase between New Jersey and Philadelphia. The nor'easter that moved into our area last night dumped a lot of rain causing flooding on the roads and a deadly crash on the Schuylkill Expressway this morning. Princeton Getting Meningitis Vaccine, Gloucester County Luring Warnings

A meningitis vaccine not yet licensed for use in the U.S. will be made available to nearly 6,000 students starting Dec. 9 at Princeton University. The Ivy League school has experienced an outbreak of type B, which is sometimes life-threatening. The former chairman of the Montgomery County Republican Party has been arrested for allegedly drugging a female employee from his law firm and raping her while she was unconscious. Robert Kerns faces 19 criminal counts, including charges of rape, sexual assault, tampering with evidence, and lying to authorities. The incident happened Oct. 25 after an after-work party. There was a lot of enthusiasm at the Minor Alps concert at the World Cafe, downstairs, this past Friday. The enthusiasm was for Mathew Caws of Nada Surf and Juliana Hatfield of Blake Babies not particularly for Minor Alps. Mayor Nutter was joined by Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey Monday night, as they discussed the "Knockout Game". The Mayor says that anyone caught taking part in the "knockout game" will face charges ranging from aggravated assault up to third degree murder. Grand Jury Indicts Contractor in Building Collapse; Bucks County Teenage Rapist Tried as Adult

A Philadelphia grand jury has indicted Griffin Campbell, the owner of the company in charge of the demolition of the building near 22nd and Market Streets that collapsed on the adjacent Salvation Army thrift store. That building collapse last June killed six people and injured more than a dozen others. Campbell is being charged with third-degree murder and six counts of involuntary manslaughter, and related crimes. The grand jury stated that Campbell knew the risk of danger and ignored...
