Police say a man has died after he was shot twice in the head in South Philadelphia Wednesday night at the 500 block of Watkins Street. The victim, between the age of 18 and 20, was taken to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead. An investigation is underway.

The three suspects wanted in connection with an assault on a same-sex couple on September 11th in Center City have turned themselves into Philadelphia Police today. 24-year-old Phillip Williams of Warminster, 24-year-old Kathyrn Knott of Southhampton, and 26-year-old Kevin Harrigan of Warrington have all been arrested and charged with aggravated assault, criminal conspiracy, simple assault, and recklessly endangering another person. A middle school teacher has been charged amid allegations he had sex with a 15 year old student. Thirty eight year old William Barber is a Phys. Ed and Health teacher at Garnet Valley Middle School and a coach of the football and baseball teams. Barber started the viral “lemon shot challenge” to benefit pediatric cancer on social media to help his daughter who is sick.

The PA state Senate has sent a bill to Governor Tom Corbett that will authorize a $2 per pack tax on cigarettes to raise cash for Philadelphia schools. Governor Corbett, said in a statement that he would sign the bill authorizing the cigarette tax for city schools as soon as it reached his desk.

Philadelphia Police have identified the suspect who shot and killed a 15-year-old girl and injured a 19-year-old man outside of Einstein Hospital yesterday. They are looking for 19-year-old Darian Person of the 1900 block of Rowan Street. Overturned tractor trailers made a mess for morning commuters around Philadelphia today. The first overturned Southbound on I-95 at Bridge Street blocking 3 lanes and stopping traffic in both directions. On the Northeast Extension of the PA Turnpike, another tractor trailer overturned on 476 South between Quakertown and Lansdale backing up traffic for miles. The good news – No serious injuries were reported.
