Philadelphia Police say a 15-year-old girl is dead, and a 19-year-old man is in critical condition after both were shot just half a block from Einstein Medical Center in Olney late Monday afternoon. A group of more than 50 teens and young adults were near Broad and Olney, then minutes later police were called about shots being fired in that area. Philadelphia Police have completed their investigation into the assault of a gay couple in Center City 1 ½ weeks ago by a large group of men and women. They have submitted their files over to the District Attorney's office today who will make the determination on any charges to be filed. The Philadelphia Eagles are 3-0 after a classic battle with NFC East rival Washington Redskins. Former Eagle Desean Jackson beat Eagles cornerback Cary Williams for an 81 yard touchdown. The Black Keys and Cage the Elephant concert on Saturday 9/20 at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia was nothing short of sublime. If not a full house, it was close. My best description of the audience reaction to both bands was a full throttle ovation!

The man hunt intensified this weekend for Eric Frein, the suspect in the ambush shooting of Pennsylvania State Police troopers last week. Authorities have been focusing their search efforts on wooded areas in Barrett and Price Townships in Monroe County near the suspect's home. A 13-year-old boy has been arrested and charged with raping an 8-year-old girl in Delaware. The boy from Harrington, Kent County surrendered himself to Harrington Police on Thursday accompanied by his guardian. His identity has not been released because he is a juvenile. Police were contacted on August 28th by the state's Division of Family Services about a sexual assault that occurred in a Harrington home.
