Had the opportunity to go to the Dr. Dog concert on Saturday Sept. 13th and I have to say I was impressed. With the release of Dr. Dog's album, B-Room, I've become a recent member of the dog pound. I arrived late roamed around eating and missed all of the warmup acts (Mac DeMarco, The Front Bottoms, Hop Along). Talked to more than a few folks at the concert and it appears it was my loss for the feedback was all positive.

With the band hailing from West Grove,... Read More

Thousands of law enforcement officers from around the country came to St. Peter’s Cathedral Scranton to pay their respects to Cpl. Bryon Dickson, the PA State Trooper killed in an ambush this week. As mourners lined up 10 deep for the funeral procession under a brilliant blue sky, the search intensified for the suspected shooter, Eric Frein, a self-taught survivalist believed to be hiding in the dense woods in a swampy area of northeast Pennsylvania.

Saturday night's bill at the Wells Fargo Center is set to be a 1-2 punch of the best of today's alternative rock. There is no mellow or softness to either act here, just raw straight forward rock and roll. The Black keys and Cage the Elephant, both mainstays on Alternative Rock radio for many years now, are in the middle of a fall tour through the Upper Midwest, Canada, and the Northeast.

Headliners The Black Keys, comprised of the Grammy winning duo Dan Auerbach and Patrick... Read More

Philadelphia City Council approved a bill today 14-2 that will decriminalize possession of small amounts of marijuana. This bill was a compromise reached last week between Mayor Michael Nutter and councilman Jim Kenney, the bill's sponsor. Anyone caught with 30 grams (about an ounce) or less of pot would be issued a $25 fine and a "non-summary civil offense." They would have to make one appearance before a judge. Anyone caught smoking pot in public would by issued a $100 fine, which... Read More

As the family prepares a funeral for Cpl. Bryon Dickson, the PA State Trooper killed in an ambush this week at his barracks in Pike County, police are zeroing in on a suspect. 31 year old Eric Matthew Frein (pictured) of Canadensis in Monroe County is the subject of a manhunt. Police say he is anti-government and extremely dangerous. Frein is said to have belonged to a military simulation unit whose members play the roles of eastern European soldiers.
