Pennsylvania public school districts would be required to post "In God We Trust" in every school building under legislation that advanced out of a committee in the state House of Representatives this week. The National Motto Display Act, as it is titled, credits James Pollock, a 19th century Pennsylvania governor, for putting the term on coins while serving as director of the U.S. Mint. A Delaware County couple has been arrested and are behind bars for horrible conditions found in the home where they were raising two girls. This is the third time authorities had to remove children from their household. County case workers called police to the home on Bethel Road in Upper Chichester when they were blocked from visiting the children. Police found a house filled with trash, animal feces, and filth. PA State Police are dropping round the clock security for the wife of Lt. Governor Jim Cawley at the Cawley's request. Suzanne Cawley resumed work in May as a full time real estate agent in New York. From July through September it cost the Commonwealth $81,000 in travel expenses. That’s $20,000 more than it cost to protect her husband.

Philadelphia District Attorney Seth Williams announced that charges will be dropped against former Philadelphia priest Robert Brennan. 26-year-old Sean McIlmail had brought the charges against Brennan, however, he died unexpectedly last week of a drug overdose. Three Jersey shore towns are giving themselves authority to seize beachfront land from owners who are blocking the federal government from building a protective dune system a year after Superstorm Sandy wreaked havoc along the shore. Police have arrested three men for the shooting death of a South Jersey gas station attendant this past August during a robbery. On August 25th, three men robbed the Garden State gas station on N Broad Street in Woodbury, NJ around 9:00 pm. During the robbery, 40-year-old attendant Surinder Singh was shot in the chest and killed.
