A man went missing after swimming off the coast in Island Beach State Park south of Seaside Park, NJ Friday afternoon. The 25-year-old was a French tourist and reportedly had not had experience swimming the in ocean before. The conditions were rough at the time and there were no lifeguards on duty on that stretch of beach. Coast Guard and local crews are searching by boat and helicopter or the missing man. There is a lot of finger pointing over who launched the surface-to-air missile that shot down a Malaysian Airlines passenger jet over Ukraine carrying almost 300 passengers. Ukraine accused pro-Russian separatists. However the rebels have denied downing the plane. American intelligence is working to determine whether the missile came from the Russian or Ukrainian side of the border.

Police have charged the 23 year old West Philadelphia man in custody in connection with the brutal murder of Laura Araujo, a recent graduate of the Art Institute of Philadelphia. Jeremiah Jackson, charged with murder, lived in the same building at the 40th and Brown as his victim. He confessed to killing her while being questioned by police yesterday. The motive was money.
