Mom Faces Murder Charges, Liberty High School Lockdown, Nutter Ends Immigrant Policy

A New Jersey mom has some explaining to do in front of a judge after she allegedly tried to kill her three teenage children when she drove their mini-van into the Delaware River. Joann Smith of Florence Township, due in court today, was seen having ice cream with her children just before driving them down a boat ramp into the river. Passerby, Darnell Young saw the car in the water and pulled all to safety.

A Pennsylvania state lawmaker from our area is pushing to make kindergarten mandatory in public schools and to improve the accessibility of Pre-K. Pennsylvania and New Jersey are among the six states that do not have a law requiring school districts to provide kindergarten for young students. Wednesday, State Representative Brendan Boyle held a hearing on his proposals.

Man Gives Alcohol to Sweet 16 Party; Mother Tries to Kill 3 Children; Goldwire Wanted for Shooting

A Montgomery County man is facing charges for furnishing alcohol to teenagers at a party hosted for his daughter. Arthur Blumenthal held a large Sweet 16 party for his daughter at their home on Woodruff Road in Whitemarsh Township on March 21st. Police were called to the residence because one party goer was found on the front lawn passed out and vomiting. He had to be taken to the hospital. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the Barclay Center on Thursday April 10th was a night to remember. I know there are critics and even fans who feel the celebration is overly commercial and even a sham, well I and all the 18,000 plus folks there that night disagree. Miley Cyrus Hospitalized, Arson Investigation, Support for Pope Francis Visit

Miley Cyrus has been hospitalized and had to cancel a show in Kansas City. The pop singer apparently suffered a severe negative reaction to antibiotics she had been taking. Cyrus also had to cancel a show in Charlotte, North Carolina last week because of the flu. Miley Cyrus "Bangerz" tour is scheduled to visit Philadelphia April 21st.

Pitman SWAT Standoff, Boston Marathon Bags Detonated, Berks County Amber Alert Lifted

A SWAT standoff has ended in Pitman, Glocuester County Tuesday. Pitman Police responded around 3 p.m. to a home near near Columbia Avenue and Delsea Drive. Police then summoned the Gloucester County Special Weapons and Tactics Team which negotiated with the barricaded man until his voluntary surrender shortly before 8 p.m. Investigators say the man was taken to the hospital.

Amber Alert : 20-month-old boy Aedan Michael Mauger (Canceled)

Pennsylvania State Police have issued an Amber Alert tonight after a mother took her 20-month-old son from his home.

UPDATE 8:20pm: The Amber Alert has been canceled. The boy and mother have been found safe and unharmed in Lancaster, PA. They are in the custody of the Lancaster PD.

Aedan Michael Mauger, 20 months old, was taken from 1037 Bedford Avenue in Shillington, PA, by his 24-year-old mother, Jessica Mauger.

Policeman Goes Undercover as Amish Woman; Naked Jogger in Radnor; Man Admits PECO Tampering

A policeman in western Pennsylvania had been going undercover as an Amish woman in an attempt to scare off a man suspected of exposing himself to Amish school children. Sgt. Chad Adams of Pulaski, PA, says police were not able to charge a man because of a lack of evidence. The Amish didn't want to have their children testify in court either.
