Authorities say 3 people are dead after a shooting during a monthly meeting at a municipal building in Ross Township, Monroe County Monday night. Monroe County emergency management director Guy Miller says the shooting happened Monday evening during Ross township's regular monthly meeting. In 2010, Brianna Hawk and Kayla Martinez, from Easton Area School District (PA), challenged their school when they were told they couldn't wear the rubber "I (heart) Boobies!" bracelets in support of breast cancer. When they were suspended for wearing them on Breast Awareness Day they sued with the help of the ACLU. According to many reports, Philadelphia Phillies left-hand relief pitcher Antonio Bastardo has accepted a 50-game suspension for a violation of Major League Baseball's Joint Drug Agreement. He is one of a number players who are taking the discipline from MLB today in connection with the Miami-area firm Biogensis of America, anti-aging clinic. They are accused of receiving performance-enhancing substances from Biogenesis.

A coast to coast bicycle tour from Boston to San Diego is underway to support those in need in El Salvador. A stop is scheduled for this Sunday in Havertown, PA at the home of Ernesto and Tonia Betancourt who will host the cyclists and a community brunch to help raise awareness and encourage donations for the effort.

Twenty two embassies and consulates in the Middle East and North Africa are closed today and a worldwide travel alert is in effect for Americans. Nineteen embassies will remain closed through next weekend. According to the White House, there is a credible threat of an Al Qaeda strike against Americans. There are reports that suicide bombers have had explosives surgically implanted in their bodies.

The U.S. State Department announced it will extend the closures of almost two dozen embassies and consulates, prompted by an uncovered al Qaeda plot, through Saturday due to an "abundance of caution." Officials picked up clues into the al Qaeda operation against diplomatic posts in the Middle East and other Muslim countries over the weekend.
