The Eagles won the NFC East last night with a hard fought victory over the Dallas Cowboys. After last year's 4-12 last place finish, most Eagles fans, including this one, hoped for 6 maybe 8 wins under new coach Chip Kelly. But these Eagles have surprised everyone, except maybe themselves. The Birds are a 2 point favorite Saturday night playoff game at home against the Saints. And once you make the playoffs, anything is possible.

The Philadelphia Eagles did what no one expected them to do last night. They won the NFC East Division by escaping Dallas with a 24-22 victory at AT&T Stadium, thanks to a late fourth-quarter interception by Brandon Boykin. LeSean McCoy finalized an incredible season with 1,607 yards rushing, becoming the first Eagle to lead the NFL in rushing since Hall of Famer Steve Van Buren in 1949. Kanye West has used his share of samples over the years and is probably well acquainted with the process of obtaining mechanical licenses through the The Harry Fox Agency. That being said, it seems unusual that he did not get permission or pay for the hook he sample from a 1971 song "Bound" for his #1 hit "Bound 2".

Car Crash / Gas Leak Darby; Four Man Break-In Ambler; Autopsy inconclusive in Washington, NJ

A car crash this afternoon in Delaware County caused a gas leak and evacuation. The incident happened around 4:15 p.m on the 400 block of Darby Terrace in Darby, PA. A woman trying to parallel park hit the gas pedal instead of the brake and accelerated into a house hitting the gas meter. Dozens of homes in the area were evacuated as a precaution. PECO was called to the scene to repair the gas line and metere. People have since been allowed to return to their home.

A bail hearing has been set for Monday for former Archdiocese of Philadelphia official William Lynn after his child-endangerment conviction was overturned. Lynn will not be in attendance for this hearing as he is still incarcerated in state prison in Northeast Pennsylvania. A PA superior court threw out his conviction yesterday after it determined that the child-endangerment statute as applied in Lynn's case did not apply to supervisors. Common Pleas Judge M. Blue Route Fatality, Lynn Conviction Overturned, South Philly Shootings Decline

A fatal accident shut down the Blue Route early this morning. The wreck on the Southbound side of 476 near St. Davids and Villanova happened at about 2 am ejecting one person from the vehicle. They were pronounced dead at the scene. The Blue Route re-opened after a 5 hour closure at about 7:30 this morning.

A chain-reaction crash involving dozens of vehicles Thursday morning shut down a portion of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and Interstate 78. The snowy, messy scene was about 50 miles west of Philadelphia between the Morgantown and Reading exits in Berks County. The Pennsylvania Turnpike westbound was closed between Exit 298/Morgantown (I-176) and Exit 286/Lancaster/Reading (US-222) in Lancaster for about eight hours.

A Pennsylvania appeals court has overturned a landmark conviction against a high ranking Archdiocese of Philadelphia church official today. Monsignor William Lynn was found guilty of felony child endangerment in June 2012 for his role in handling child sex abuse allegations brought against priests in the Archdiocese. Delaney Brown, the eight year old West Reading girl with leukemia has died. Laney passed away quietly on Christmas morning with her family by her side. This past Saturday she received her Christmas wish when thousands of people came out to sing carols to her. Before she died Delaney also got to do a video chat with Taylor Swift.

The Boot and Saddle has a long and interesting history on South Broad and has seen the ups and downs of the urban life cycle. It was our only country and western bar for years.
