Window Washer Falls From 7th Floor; Giant Rat/Baby Scream in Old City; FBI Police Chase Most Wanted

A window washer fell this afternoon while working on a building across from Rittenhouse Square. There were three workers washing windows at around 2pm. The man fell from the seventh floor to a roof outside the second floor above the lobby of the Rittenhouse Claridge apartment building at 201 S. 18th Street. He survived the fall and was taken to Hahnemann University Hospital. The Department of Licenses & Inspections will inspect the equipment and investigate the cause of the accident. ... Read More

The Jay and the Americans concert at the Ocean City Music Pier was right on the number. If you were there for a night of music nostalgia, interesting stories about their careers, and a lot of good natured kidding around, you were at the right place. The back up band, the US Band, did a bang up job. Can Jay and the Americans still sing and can Jay the 3rd hit those nose bleed notes? On all questions the answer is a resounding , yes!

Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden has had successful treatment in Texas and is back to Delaware today. Fox 29 is reporting that two weeks before the Vice President’s son was hospitalized, emergency responders were called to Joe Biden’s home in Delaware where Beau was staying at the time with a report of a possible stroke victim.

Wilmington police arrested a family after a mother led her two sons and a friend on a vehicle break-in spree. The incident occurred early Monday morning as officers responded to a 911 call reporting thefts from vehicles in the 1400 block of Stapler Place. An investigation revealed that four suspects entered vehicles in 1400 block of Stapler Place and removed property. Missing Swarthmore Boa Found; Christie Appoints New Camden Superintendent

A missing pet boa constrictor has been found after a week on the loose. The seven-foot snake, whose name is "Snakey," went missing from the backyard of its Swarthmore home where it was left out to sun. Neighbors have been on alert but can rest easy now that it has been returned to it's owner. It was found in a yard a few blocks away home.

The Brandywine Folk Festival will be held on August 23rd-25th at Anson B. Nixon Park in Kennett Square, PA. The festival caters to many different styles of musicians for a weekend full of fun with your family and friends.

The festival provides an aid for the charity, SPARCA (Southeastern Pennsylvania Autism Resource Center.)

In one of baseball's most unusual promotions, The Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs ran an essay contest with the grand prize a funeral, complete with casket, flowers and headstone. The winner was announced in the 6th inning Tuesday, Steve Paul of Freemansburg who is suffering from ALS. Paul says it is a relief knowing he will leave his family with one less burden, but he hopes he won’t use the prize for several more years.
