Jimmy Rollins has been activated from the 15-Day Disabled list and is available to play tonight in Milwaukee off the bench. He would most likely wouldn't have been activated until next week but since Chase Utley did not make the trip with the team, Rollins will take the spot as an extra infielder.

Chase will see Dr. Rob Franks at the Rothman Institute who is a concussion specialist. This is all precautionary. Hopefully Utley is alright after getting hit in the back of the helmet... Read More

Phillies Complete Sweep Against Braves With Walk Off; Utley Stays Back to Meet Doctors

  by: iradioal - Philadelphia, PA
started: 09/07/11 11:32 pm | updated: 09/07/11 11:32 pm

The Phillies looked to have squashed division rivals, the Atlanta Braves, with a three game sweep pushing them 10 1/2 games back in the standings. It was the first series sweep suffered by the Braves since the Phillies did it to them last September. It also put the Phils at another franchise high 43 games over .500 at 91-48 on their march to a record breaking season with 23 games left.

Not that there really was any doubt that Roy Oswalt, with all his experience, would have that... Read More

Phillies Reach 90 Wins Despite Rain; Tickets Can Still Be Exchanged

  by: iradioal - Philadelphia, PA
started: 09/07/11 12:59 am | updated: 09/07/11 12:59 am

The game may have started just under 2 hours late and only a few later innings saw the rain let up to a mist, but the Phillies keep proving they are deserving of the league leading 90-48 record. It was a minor miracle that a window opened up long enough and early enough that baseball could be played last night at a reasonable hour with drenching rains covering the area before and after, but Rookie of the Year candidate Vance Worley improved his record to 11-1 and the Phillies stretched their... Objectively for me, no! I do have this 'habit' of listening to an artist, in particular a full album/cd release straight thru!!!! Besides, 'listening' to one of the 'programmed stations' is like taking someone's 'shuffled i-pod' and going that route. MORESO I loathe those contraptions.....so......viva la front to back start to finish lp/cd!

  by: Rebel - Havertown, PA
started: 09/05/11 10:42 am | updated: 09/05/11 10:42 am

President Obama this week stood on a bridge overlooking the rain-swollen and fast-rushing Passaic River in Paterson, New Jersey, and said the federal government would work to rebuild towns recovering from Hurricane Irene's wrath.

The Passaic had washed over the bridge, flooded the downtown and forced hundreds to evacuate cresting at a record 14 feet, twice its flood stage, depositing debris and muddy water stains on buildings and homes across Paterson.

Philadelphia School District investigators found evidence of "several violations" in state testing protocol at Roosevelt Middle School, supporting teachers' assertions that cheating occurred at the school.

The report contradicts statements by senior officials that allegations of cheating at the East Germantown school were "unfounded."

One student's exam was completed and turned in even though the girl was absent the day of the test, according to the report.Read More
