Wynnefield Double Shooting, Philadelphia Orchestra Out Of Bankruptcy, Phillies Win 8-0

Police are investigating a double shooting in the Wynnefield section of the city last night near 54th and Berks streets.
One of the men who was shot drove himself to Presbyterian hospital. The second man, who was shot in the face, is in critical condition at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania.
Authorities are investigating whether the two men were shooting at each other.

An American Airlines flight landed safely at Philadelphia International Airport this afternoon after it reported smoke in the cockpit. The plane landed without further incident and all 132 passengers onboard are believed to be okay.

Philadelphia Police released the identity of the man wanted in connection with the sexual assault and burglary of a 78 year old woman in Germantown. He is 24 year old Ronald Gregory and he is the primary suspect in last week's break-in.

After yet another incredible performance, by Jason Aldean, the mood drastically changed at the Time Warner Cable Music Pavilion. The Phillies have officially thrown in the towel on this season. Shane Victorino is headed out west to join the LA Dodgers. The trade will net the Phillies right-handed relief pitcher Josh Lindblom and Double-A right-handed relief pitcher Ethan Martin.

The FBI has made an arrest in the scam that duped Philadelphia weatherman John Bolaris twice out of more than $43,000 in credit card charges. Alec Simchuk picked up in Miami, is a nightclub owner with alleged ties to an Eastern European crime ring that uses attractive women to scam unsuspecting men into parting with their credit cards. Bolaris was scammed back in 2010 two days in a row.

Authorities have found the body of a 52-year-old Bucks County man who vanished off the coast of North Wildwood last weekend. Brad Smith's body was found Monday morning on a city beach. Over the weekend, trees were planted in the spot where Joe Paterno's statue once stood outside Penn State's Beaver Stadium. Last weekend the Paterno statue came down in the wake of the Jerry Sandusky child sex abuse scandal and the investigation's conclusion that Paterno was involved in collusion to cover it up.

The City of Camden has tied a record that it is not proud of. There was another deadly shooting overnight bringing the total number of murders for the month of July to 12. That ties the record for the month and there are still 2 days left. Camden is pushing to adopt a county wide police force which could put 400 officers on the street.

26 year old, Mathew Phillip Sinson, was taken into custody Saturday morning when police found a portable meth lab at the center city Hampton Inn and he's been charged. But, a second suspect remains at large. Police confiscated multiple grams of methamphetamine with a street value of around $71,000.00;
various chemical components for the manufacturing of methamphetamine, and paraphernalia such as funnels, containers, and grinding equipment.
