The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland has announced the nominees for 2013. Those acts need to have been making music for at least 25 years to qualify. Then the hall will send ballots out to over 600 members of the music industry to vote. Performers garnering the highest number of votes and at least 50% will be inducted, usually 5-7 each year. A high school sophomore in Philadelphia was ridiculed by her teacher for wearing a pink Mitt Romney for President t-shirt. Samantha Pawlucy says her geometry teacher at Charles Carroll High School in Port Richmond publicly humiliated her inside and outside the classroom in the hallway and was told to change the shirt because Carroll is a Democrat school. The teacher likened wearing the shirt to wearing a white KKK sheet. The school district is investigating.

A double shooting in the city's Brewerytown neighborhood Wednesday night is under investigation. Police say a 24 year old man was shot in the lower back and taken to Hahnemann University Hospital where he is listed in stable condition. The second victim, and 18 year old man, was taken to Temple University Hospital after being shot in the buttocks, also listed in stable condition. No arrests have been made at this time.

The Phillies lost today 5-1 to the 2012 NL East Champion Washington Nationals. They finished the season with a completely unexciting 81-81 record. The District Attorney's office said today that they will drop charges against Aida Guzman, the woman punched by Philadelphia Lt. Jonathan Josey last weekend. Guzman, 39, was cited for disorderly conduct after police thought she threw some kind of liquid at them during a street celebration following the Puerto Rican Day parade. Plans right now are to move forward with disbanding the Westtown-East Goshen Regional Police department. The East Goshen board of supervisors indicated contingency plans are being considered. Options include being covered by the state police or starting a new police department and residents want to know how much a new department would cost. Dave Grohl told fans at the Global Citizen Festival in Central Park, New York City on Saturday, September 29th that he didn't know when the band would play together again, but that they were going to be taking a break for a while.

A Commonwealth Court judge issued a temporary injunction today against the controversial Voter ID law. The injunction will prevent the full law from going into effect for the upcoming election. Registered voters will not be required to have a valid ID in order to fill out a ballot on election day Nov. 6.
