Some of the events have been announced for this year's "Wawa Welcome America" celebration, during the days surrounding America's birthday on July 4th.

'Taste of Philadelphia,' "kicks off June 29th and goes through until Sunday, July 1st." Sunday, July 1st, will also be "Gospel Day" on Penn's Landing. Also back this year, on July 3rd, Peter Nero and the Pops. And the festivities wrap up with a free party on the Parkway, July 4th, featuring "The Roots."

Today the City of Philadelphia announced some of the planned festivities for the 10 day Wawa Welcome America Festival coming up at the end of this month and into the 4th of July. Ray Bradbury, Sci-Fi Author, Dies at 91

Ray Bradbury, the author of classics such as "Fahrenheit 451," "Something Wicked this Way Comes." and "The Martian Chronicles," passed away Wednesday morning in Los Angeles at the age of 91.

Bradbury began his writing career in 1938 by writing for fanzines, becoming a full time writer in 1943. His breakthrough, "The Martian Chronicles," was published in 1950. It was about man's attempt to colonize Mars after nuclear war on Earth.

Archbishop Charles Chaput estimates that the Archdiocese of Philadelphia has spent more than $11 million on the ongoing clergy abuse crisis and that does not include the trial of Monsignor William Lynn. Chaput stressed that the money to pay the bills will come from the sale of excess property owned by the archdiocese.

Grizzly Bear announces new Album and releases first track

Brooklyn's Grizzly Bear have announced the follow up album to 2009's breakout Veckatimest. The yet untitled release will be available September 16th. This will be the band's fourth. The first track released, called "Sleeping Ute", has a comparatively complex sound for the indie rockers to previous work.

East Goshen Burglar Arrest, Miss PA USA 2012 Quits, Barking Bachelorette

Westtown-East Goshen police have arrested a man after he allegedly broke into a home in East Goshen Township. A resident reported that she had been in her bedroom when a black male entered her house before fleeing on foot.

Police searched the area and found an unsecured residence, where they discovered the suspect concealed under articles inside a basement closet.

Religious Groups Sue Over Outside Food, Temple Football Player Arrested for Rape, Abuse Trial Update

Various religious groups filed a federal lawsuit protesting Philadelphia's ban on feeding the homeless outside in the city's public parks, on the grounds it violates the First Amendment and Pennsylvania's Religious Freedom Protection Act. The ACLU and the law firm of Kairys, Rudovsky, Messing & Feinberg, LLP filed the suit on behalf of Chosen 300 Ministries, the Welcome Church, the King’s Jubilee, and Philly Restart.
