A rainy Sunday is creating a problematic Monday across Philadelphia. Flooded streams and overloaded storm sewers puddled streets backing up traffic. High winds brought trees down interrupting power. And of course, many basements are under water. Over 2 inches of rain fell here, but this is nothing compared to what is on tap for western Pennsylvania today - a foot of snow.

Philadelphia restaurants are hosting the 22nd annual Dining Out For Life this Thursday April 26th to... Read More

Heavy rain is expected to continue across the entire Philadelphia region throughout Sunday and overnight with a total of 2 to 3 inches of rain. A Flood Watch is in effect for the area as well, mainstem river flooding is not expected, but you should prepare for minor flooding of prone areas. All of this precipitation is much needed since we have been well below average for the entire year. This same system, which is typical April showers here, is going to bring havoc in the western half of... Read More

Phillies have placed left hander Cliff Lee on the 15-day disabled lee with a strained left oblique. This comes just 3 days after Lee pitched 10 scoreless innings in a pitching duel against Matt Cain of the San Fransisco Giants. The Phillies ended up losing that game 1-0 in 11 innings.

"With obliques, you just don't know how long they're going to take," Phillies general manager Ruben Amaro Jr. said. "He's shown improvement. We're hopeful that he's only going to miss a couple of... Read More

The annual Lyrid meteor shower is expected to peak overnight tonight with the best viewing just before dawn on Sunday. However, here in Philadelphia the forecast is calling for cloudy, rainy skies starting late Saturday afternoon and getting worse through Sunday. If it wasn't for the clouds, the sky would be perfect for viewing since the moon is in the "new" phase and the skies would be dark.

The Lyrid meteor occurs every mid-April as Earth passes through a stream of dust left... Read More
