Juniata Murder, Phillies 2013 Ticket Pricing, Nutter Pushes For New Tax Power

A man was shot and killed last night in Juniata. He and his wife were walking home at about 8 pm when they noticed they were being stalked. Two teenagers wearing masks approached them, shot the man and fled the scene. The victim was carrying a large amount of marijuana but nothing was taken. Police are investigating a motive.

City officials say the Philadelphia police officer caught on video using his baton to help make an arrest at a South Street block party last month has been sued in federal court 13 times. A review of the cases shows they involved charges of unreasonable force and unlawful arrest, among others. Commissioner Charles Ramsey says Internal Affairs is investigating to see if Officer William Gress used excessive force, but he says any past cases won’t figure in to the investigation.

Andy Reid's experiment with moving an Offensive line coach to Defensive coordinator has come to and end. The Philadelphia Eagles have announced today at 5pm that Juan Castillo has been fired as DC and will be replaced by secondary coach Todd Bowles.

Today the Rolling Stones announced dates for their next tour. This Could Be the Last Time. The Stones are celebrating their 50th anniversary together and they’ve announce 4 dates. Two in London in November and two in the U.S. at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey December 13th and 15th. Keith Richards says “Everything is rocking” and Mick Jagger hinted more shows could be added.

Arlen Specter Funeral, NJ Voter Deadline, Sex Offender Arrested at Library

Funeral services are being held this afternoon for Arlen Specter. Specter died Sunday at home from complications of non-Hodgkins lymphoma. He was 82. Specter was the longest-serving U.S. Senator in Pennsylvania history. Funeral services started at noon at Har Zion Temple in Penn Valley and were open to the public.

Fed Officer Mugged For Laptop, I-95 Bus Fire, 52nd St. Makeover

A federal officer is recovering at Hahnemann University Hospital after being punched in the face in Center City Monday night. Police say two suspects mugged the officer of his laptop at 15th and JFK. The suspects punched the officer before fleeing the area. At least one suspect is in custody.

Arlen Specter, Pennsylvania's longest serving US Senator, died Sunday in his East Falls home after battling Non-Hodgkins Lymphoma. Specter will always be known for his political independence, his questioning of Anita Hill that helped clear the way for Clarence Thomas appointment to the Supreme Court, and his "Single Bullet Theory" after the assassination of President John F. Kennedy. Specter will be buried tomorrow at noon. Arlen Specter was 82.

That was the word Philadelphia City Council heard Thursday from former Fire Commissioner Roger Ulshafer to describe emergency management at the Kensington warehouse fire in April that killed two firefighters. City Council is probing to determine if proper safety controls were in place during the 5 alarm blaze.

Wilmington Child Hit By Car, SEPTA Injury Fraud, Michael Vick a Dog Owner

A child was rushed to DuPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington after being struck by a car on Thursday.
The two year old child left his home in attempt to follow his father to the store.
The boy was struck by a westbound 1997 Buick Century operated by a 52-year-old Wilmington man who did remain at the scene and cooperate with police.
There is no word on the child’s condition.
