Alice's Restaurant is based on a true incident in the life of Arlo Guthrie that began on Thanksgiving Day 1965. Released in 1967, with its repetitive and catchy ragtime guitar backing, Arlo tells the tale of being arrested for illegally dumping some of Alice's garbage after discovering that the town dump was closed for the holiday.

Taylor Swift is bringing more pride to Pennsylvania, not to mention some more award hardware. Swift won three American Music Awards including beating Adele, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Lil Wayne for artist of the year. The 21-year-old Swift previously claimed the award in 2009.

"This is so crazy," beamed Swift, who also picked up the trophies for favorite country female artist and favorite country album for "Speak Now."

Playing with backups and their back up against the playoff elimination wall, the Philadelphia Eagles beat the Giants 17-10. The Birds overcame injuries to Michael Vick and Jeremy Maclin, who did not play, as well as the mental breakdown of Desean Jackson's 50 yard taunting penalty to beat the New York Giants AGAIN in the Meadowlands.

Phillies Pick Up Ty Wigginton From the Rockies

The Phillies grabbed utilityman Ty Wigginton from the Colorado Rockies in exchange for a player to be named later. Wigginton was a .242 hitter with 15 homers and 47 RBIs in 130 games last season. He played third and first base, left field and right field. The 34-year-old Wigginton has hit .265 with 158 homers and 548 RBIs in 1,190 games in 10 seasons with the New York Mets, Pittsburgh, Tampa Bay, Houston, Baltimore and Colorado. Two Runners Collapse and Die at Philadelphia Marathon

Despite nearly perfect running conditions, two runners died during the Philadelphia Marathon on Sunday. A 21-year-old male, collapsed at the finish line and a 40-year-old male collapsed a quarter mile from the finish line. A spokesperson for the University of Pennsylvania confirmed the 21-year-old was senior Jeffrey Lee, a nursing and business major from California who was competing in the half-marathon. Cardinal Bevilacqua to Testify

After months of legal maneuvering, Cardinal Anthony Bevilacqua is expected to testify about how the Archdiocese of Philadelphia handled years of child sex-abuse allegations. His deposition will take place over several days in a closed hearing at Bevilacqua's residence beginning November 28th at St Charles Seminary.
