  by: iradioal - Philadelphia, PA
started: 06/25/11 1:36 am | updated: 06/27/11 2:26 pm

The first day of the 3 day Caravan festival has completed down in Atlantic City. Everyone here was very fortunate that none of the scattered strong thunderstorms in the rest area came through and hit Bader Field, we were all left dry, albeit very dirty and dusty. The forecast for the rest of the weekend looks clear and slightly cooler as well, which will be perfect.

The crowds were light early on, probably being a Friday (weekday) but filled in as the day progressed. This weekend... Read More

NJ Gov. Christie nationalized his victory on pensions and health benefits on NBC's Meet the Press this week, saying President Obama's Washington should model itself on Christie's New Jersey.

Christie said Obama needed to deal directly with congressional leaders, just as Christie sat with Democratic legislative leaders to hammer out an agreement that forces public workers to pay more for pensions and health benefits.

Christie said: "If you're the executive, you've... Read More

Season of Change for the 76ers

  by: iradiotom - Philadelphia, PA
started: 06/21/11 3:26 pm | updated: 06/24/11 8:22 am

The Philadelphia 76ers are a team poised to make quite a few changes. After changing coaches last season, Doug Collins has proved change can be very good. The Sixers are scheduled for picks number 16 and 50 in the draft, but that may change too. There is speculation the veteran lineup may change, possibly trading Andre Iguodala to move up in the draft. The 76ers want to add a big man and a shooter. And ownership may change very soon. Talk is intensifying that the Sixers are about to be... Read More

Under legislation that received final House passage on Wednesday, bars and restaurants will get more flexibility to schedule the times they sell cheap drinks each week.

Bars would still have to comply with the total 14-hour-a-week happy-hour limit, but the bill increases the happy-hour period from two hours to four hours a day.

Rep. John Payne (R., Dauphin) said he introduced the bill because it baffled him that the state had such control over business owners'... Read More

Ryan Dunn was Legally Drunk While Driving

  by: iradioal - Philadelphia, PA
started: 06/22/11 4:04 pm | updated: 06/22/11 4:04 pm

Toxicology results released Wednesday showed Ryan Dunn had a blood alcohol level of 0.196, well over the state's limit of .08. Dunn and his passenger, Zach Hartwell, were out drinking at Barnaby's in West Chester prior to the crash, although most reports were that he seemed ok when he left. The combination of Dunn's level of intoxication and the fact that he was driving at 130 mph were obvious contributing factors to this horrific crash.

Dunn has had a history of reckless... Read More
