Obama's Birth Certificate Released

The White House released President Obama's long form birth certificate. It shows the President was, in fact, born in the US. So is the debate over? Not likely. The political propaganda machine will continue to churn on both sides. Since it is a requirement to become a US president that you be born here, why not require all presidential candidates to provide long form birth certificates before their campaign ever starts?

Mumia Abu-Jamal Death Sentence Revisited

Philadelphia's District Attorney will ask the US Supreme Court to reconsider the sentencing of convicted death row murderer Mumia Abu-Jamal after the Third Circuit Court upheld its previous decision. Abu-Jamal received the death sentence for the 1981 execution style murder of Philadelphia Police Officer, Daniel Faulkner. Who is America's favorite mascot in all of sports? It should come as no surprise around here that the Phillie Phanatic has topped the list. Forbes magazine published the results of nationwide survey conducted by The Marketing Arm. It seems fans everywhere can't get enough of the Phillie Phanatic taunting the opposition and launching hot dogs into the stands. Duck Boats Return to Philadelphia

The duck boats are back in the Delaware River and on the streets of Philadelphia. Ride-the-Ducks tours have been suspended in Philadelphia since July after the tragic collision on the Delaware River with a barge that resulted in the death of two Hungarian tourists. Mayor Nutter announced the list of headliners slated for this year's summer concert series at the Dell Music Center.
Jerry Butler, the Stylistics, the Delfonics, Angie Stone, Ginuwine, Joe, and Marsha Ambrosius will headline shows from July 7 to Aug. 25. Jazz singer Nancy Wilson and jazz saxophonist Najee will kick off the concert season at the Dell on June 23.

Ride The Ducks Rides Again In Philly

Operating under a new safety plan, duck boats will return to the Delaware River for the first time since the accident last summer that killed two tourists.
Part of the new safety plan includes a rescue boat that will always be docked at Pier 5 and a much shorter water ride.
The water portion of the tour will now last from 10 to 15 minutes instead of 30.
