The Color Run is Coming to Philadelphia!

So I just found out about The Color Run today and it's taking place in Philly on July 8th 2012! For those of you who don't know, The Color Run is a "race" that anyone can participate in! You can walk the three miles or you can sprint...it doesn't matter!

Why is it called the color run? Probably because participants get sprayed with a different color at every kilometer mark! All runners must begin the race wearing a white shirt! In the 1 kilometer zone, participants are hit with yellow, at 2 KM the color is blue, at 3 it is green, at 4 it is pink, and finally zone 5 is "color extravaganza!"

It's all about having fun...AND it raises money for the non-profit organization "Back on My Feet". "Back on My Feet" is dedicated to instilling hope and independence in the homeless and other populations in need. They use running to build confidence and eventually help individuals access educational and employment opportunities.

Participants can register individually or in groups of four. The deadline for early registration has already passed, but you can still get discounted pricing. It is $50 per solo runner or $45 per group member if you register before June 1st! This is a great opportunity to be active and have fun with family and friends!
